Zoe Lyons Nieves is the Director of Outreach for Unity of New York. She is assisted by Unity member, Lynn Manuel. Our Outreach Ministry coordinates activities and holds several donation drives throughout the year to give back to the NYC community as well as the world.

Unity’s Outreach has worked with several community organizations over the years, such as New York Cares, Volunteers of America, Food Bank NY, God’s Love We Deliver, WGirls, and the ASPCA, who really make a difference by “paying it forward”. Participating with these organizations, Unity of New York congregants have contributed toys, coats, prom dresses, pet supplies, canned goods, umbrellas, back packs, cell phones, and thousands of dollars to help others in our community and throughout the world. We even helped rebuild a school in Haiti! Of course, it’s wonderful to come to a Celebration Service on Sunday and feel inspired to transform our own lives, but it’s even more powerful to help in the transformation of others’ lives – even when you’ll most likely never have the chance to meet them in person. Knowing that you’ve made a difference in someone’s life is one of the BEST FEELINGS EVER!

Annual Project GLAM - Prom Dress Drive!

Sundays, March 26th and April 2nd at Symphony Space.

Project GLAM

Granting Lasting Amazing Memories!

Please join Unity of New York’s Outreach team and the UNY Women’s Group as we participate in this amazing event.

We will be collecting NEW Dresses & Gowns appropriate for teenage girls to wear to their proms.  We’ll also be collecting NEW UNUSED Make-up.

Donations will be submitted to the W-Girls foundation which holds this annual event for girls in the 5 boroughs whose families are not in a position to afford a new dress for the prom. It’s a great way to Pay It Forward and help a young woman feel special for this special right of passage.
