Spiritus (Latin for “breath of God”) has been an integral part of the ministry at Unity of New York since the spiritual center’s inception in 1999.

Spiritus (Latin for “breath of God”) has been an integral part of the ministry at Unity of New York since the spiritual center’s inception in 1999.

Led by Rev. Britt Hall, Spiritus vocal ensemble members come from the stages of Broadway and Off Broadway, cruise ships, theatres and concert halls around the world. They have appeared in productions such as Miss Saigon, Avenue Q, The Full Monty, Into the Woods, Grease, Guys and Dolls, Cats and Next To Normal. New York City venues include Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, The Town Hall NYC, The Public Theater, Russian Tea Room, The Firebird, The Rainbow Room, The Metropolitan Room, The Hammerstein Ballroom and Tavern On the Green. Spiritus members have also been seen on film and television and can be heard on award-winning recordings.

Spiritus became widely known to the Unity Worldwide community when they were featured at the 2003 “People’s Convention” in Kansas City, Missouri. They were instantly embraced with much acclaim. Convention Coordinator Debbie Ball said, “We were truly blessed by Spiritus….This amazing group of singers had the audience on their feet with standing ovation after standing ovation. We had never seen or heard anything like them.” Since that time, Spiritushas been opening hearts and uplifting people at Unity churches and New Thought centers around the country.

Spiritushas shared the stage with such luminaries as Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith, Ben Vereen, Bishop Dr. Barbara King, Arun Gandhi, and Bishop John Shelby Spong, to name a few.
