In childhood, my imagination helped me see fascinating shapes and wondrous creatures in cloud formations. Picking up a twig, I might have pretended I held a wand that could give me magical powers. An ordinary packing box could become a vessel to sail on or under the seas, an aircraft to fly higher than mountains, or even a spaceship I could fly to explore the stars.
Much more than whimsy, imagination is a potent spiritual tool. I use my imagination with intention to give shape to my dreams and goals.
Although my childhood may be a memory, I am grateful that I can still use my imagination to create the life of my dreams as I envision possibilities beyond the reality I know and the world I see.
For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.—Luke 10:24
